Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ResumeOptimizer (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

ResumeOptimizer helps you tailor resumes and related documents to specific job postings using automated analysis and AI-generated suggestions. Results are provided for your review; you are responsible for verifying accuracy before submitting materials to employers.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information and notify us promptly of unauthorized use.

Credits and payments

Certain features require credits. New accounts may receive promotional trial credits as described on the website.

Paid credit packs are processed by Stripe or other payment partners. Prices and pack sizes are shown at checkout. Except where required by law, purchases are non-refundable once credits are delivered.

We may change pricing or credit policies with reasonable notice. Unused credits have no cash value.

Acceptable use

You may only upload content you have the right to use, including resumes and job descriptions you are permitted to process.

You may not use the Service to violate law, infringe intellectual property, harass others, distribute malware, attempt unauthorized access, or reverse engineer the Service except as allowed by law.

You may not use the Service to generate misleading credentials, impersonate others, or submit fabricated employment history.

Your content

You retain ownership of resumes, job descriptions, and other materials you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service for you.

You represent that your content does not violate third-party rights or applicable law.

AI-generated output

Optimized resumes, cover letters, and scores are generated automatically and may contain errors. You must review all output before use.

We do not guarantee interviews, offers, or ATS outcomes. The Service is a tool to improve presentation and keyword alignment, not a guarantee of hiring success.

Intellectual property

The Service, including software, branding, and design, is owned by ResumeOptimizer or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or proprietary materials except as needed to use the Service.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service with reasonable notice where practicable.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including limitations of liability) will survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
