ResumeOptimizer ("we," "us," or "our") provides AI-assisted resume optimization. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website or services, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials managed through Firebase Authentication. You may optionally add a display name and profile photo.
Resume and job content: When you run an optimization, we process the resume file you upload, the job description you provide, and the optimized outputs we generate (resume, cover letter, scores, and related metadata).
Usage and billing data: We store credit balances, optimization history, template preferences, and payment-related records processed by Stripe when you purchase credits.
Technical data: We may collect standard log data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited to operate and secure the service.
How we use your information
To provide, maintain, and improve the optimization service you request.
To authenticate your account, save your results, and enforce credit usage.
To communicate with you about your account, support requests, or important service updates.
To detect abuse, fraud, and security issues.
We do not sell your personal information.
AI processing
Resume and job-description content is sent to third-party AI providers (such as Google Gemini) solely to generate your optimization results. We configure these services for production use and do not use your documents to train public models.
You should not upload information you are not permitted to share with us or our subprocessors.
How we store and retain data
Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (including Google Firebase/Firestore and Cloud Storage where applicable).
We retain account and optimization data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, or resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us.
Sharing with service providers
We share information with trusted vendors who help us operate the service, including hosting (Firebase/Google Cloud), authentication, payment processing (Stripe), and AI inference providers. These vendors process data only on our instructions and under appropriate agreements.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition with notice where required.
Your choices and rights
You can update your profile photo and certain preferences in the app. You can sign out or delete content associated with saved optimizations through your account where those features are available.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data. Contact us at teamhaaatch@gmail.com to submit a request. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our service is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International users
If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where our providers operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
